@markdaniels71742 days ago I saw a tab of “Portrait of Tracy” decades ago, specifying the area of the frets where each harmonic sounded best: 3+ and 4-, for example. Been playing (most of) the song ever since. 1

@adamadeptus3686last year That was brilliantly helpful. Reminds me of why Victor Wooten recommends just drilling down the chromatic scale on all frets, or in his words, "play all the notes." If we do this in all positions before, after, and on the frets for the harmonic technique, we can find the sweet spots you eloquently mention. 👌 ... 18

@alanredversangellast year The harmonics occur at fractions of the string length. So half the string is 12 fret etc 4

Never mentioned but obvious if you know, the harmonic note is same as the open string but octaves higher, never changes.
