انٹرمیڈیٹ کے پارٹ ون اور انٹرمیڈیٹ پارٹ ٹو کے امتحانات میں ایک سوال پوچھا جاتا ہے کہ حسب ذیل جملوں کو درست کرکے دوبارہ لکھیں۔ ان جملوں میں درست علامت وقف لگانے ہوتے ہیں اسی طرح بعض اوقات ایک پیراگراف دیا جاتا ہے اور اس میں درست مقامات پر درست علامات وقف لگانے ہوتے ہیں۔ اسی طرح ایسوسی ایٹ ڈگری پروگرام کے لینگویسٹک میں نحویات کے ذیل میں بھی رموز اوقاف کے متعلق پوچھا جاتا ہے۔ یہ ایک اہم سوال ہے اور عام لوگ جو سوشل میڈیا ، فیس بک ، بلاگ وغیرہ پر تحریر لکھنا چاہتے ہیں ان کے لیے بھی درست مقام پر علامات وقف لگانا جاننا ضروری ہے کیونکہ غلط مقامات پر یا غلط علامت وقف لگانے سے کلام کا مفہوم تبدیل ہونے کا خدشہ رہتا ہے۔ ہم نے کوشش کی ہے کہ آج کے آن لائن لیکچر میں ہم علامات وقف پر تفصیلی گفتگو کریں۔ تاکہ ہمارے طلبا اور طالبات سمیت عام لکھاریوں کو تحریر لکھتے ہوئے کوئی مشکل درپیش نہ ہو۔ Although Urdu Linguistics has a short range of History , Yet it has gained a valuable and tremendous place among world's Linguistics. Some Universities Like Allama Iqbal Open University are offering independent and Isolated courses of linguistics at master , M.phil and Ph.d Level , while others are teaching it as a compulsory subject at Master of Urdu Level. Urdu Grammar , A Subfield of Linguistics , is considered a key tool at school and college level. Separate Question Papers and hence separate Classrooms  are arranged for Urdu Grammar. Nowadays, Urdu Linguistics, (Pure Urdu Linguistics ) is being taught in associate degree programs for both Science and Humanity Students. We have arranged this series of Lectures in order to help our Students in this comparatively new course of study. We are hopeful that our efforts will be proven fruitful.
