I share my laser tattoo removal experience after 10 treatments. I hold nothing back in the removal process in this video “The Ugly Truth”. You will see live video of me getting my tattoos removed. I will give laser removal tips, show the healing process (aftercare), and I’ll answer the top 3 questions I get in a helpful and entertaining Q&A like: Is laser tattoo removal painful? How many treatments does it take to completely remove a tattoo? And: Why did I choose to get my tattoos removed? @Grumpy_Crumpet3 years ago Getting my shoulder tattoo removed with a q-switched laser - just had my fourth session today. I've seen people ask about pain in the comments. It does hurt, a bit like having hot oil spat at you. I definitely find deep breathing and meditation helps during the sessions. Also get yourself a nice treat after, and drink plenty of water! ... 102

@climbjay3 years ago That practitioner is using picosecond laser. It’s supposed to be more effective at tattoo removal... but clearly not. ND-YAG lasers are still the most effective treatment. That progress is awful for 10 sessions!!
I’ve had dark black tattoos completely disappear after 4-5 sessions with ND-YAG treatment.

@renfanale29022 years ago I just got my first tattoo yesterday as a bday pressie to myself. I've been wanting this done for the last 7 years of my life, and saving for this the last 3 years. I did my research on the studio and the artist both online and off. I booked in with the artist months ago we've been talking since. My mistake was not asking for the stencil in advance for review, turns out my artist is good at everything except birds. Got to the session nearly $1000 and 3.5hrs later I now have a really big, not very good tattoo of my favourite animal on my thigh. I'm devastated. Thanks for this, realistic process of tattoo removal. It's the next day and I'm already looking into tattoo removal. Can't wait to spend the next few years of my life saving to get this thing removed. ... 7

@umyeahokthen5 years ago I just went for my 3rd session on two 20 year old tattoos. It hurt the worst this time and I really dread the next few sessions. I just grip the stress balls and tell them to go for it until I can't take it then we take a break for a few seconds. It's horrible, so please you guys, don't get frivolous/impulsive tattoos. You'll regret some of them when you're older. Plus laser is expensive. ... 9

@changemymind86922 years ago The numbing creams work. The only problem with numbing cream when getting a tattoo is that the numbness only last for an hour or two then you started feeling it. It should be perfect for laser treatments since they last only minutes. ... 5

@cristobalpalmero32992 years ago He had really stubborn tattoos. My faded a lot the first session. The shading was almost gone after the 3rd session. Looks like a lot of ink on his chest tattoo. Don't worry too much about the pain, it's tolerable. Numbing cream and ice cold air take 25% of the pain away. Different colors react differently. Red ink blistered and even a bit of blood. ... 8

@skylamaytasch68632 years ago I’m in the process of getting a tattoo that was poorly done removed. It feels like someone is taking a knife and slicing me over and over without lifting up the knife. I could handle the pain at my first session but at my most recent session, the 4th, I started hysterically crying because of how painful it was. I felt like I was paying 350.00 to be tortured for 3 minutes. The pain to me is nearly on par with birth! I am so scared to go in for my fifth session but I need to because I HATE the tattoo. 🥺😭 ... 44

@ranker45 years ago Well, reason why i would never remove a tattoo of mine. I think at least 3 times before doing another tattoo. It must be without regrets, it must be something that would "represent" me for life. I would never pay for a tattoo, and after that pay again to remove it, and endure even more pain. I do the tattoos for me, not for others, i do not request the so called "attention" some stupid people accuse the tattooed people. Their business if they give attention, also their business if they engage in a negative discussion and citicize me with more accusations, like being an "inmate", their business also if they have to collect their teeths from the ground if they go far with the lack of common sense.
Again, think even for months if you want a tattoo or not. Don't start and regret it after few years. As you see, no tattoo is permanent, it can be removed, you will pay alot in exchange, money and pain, especially if you have a big tattoo, which would be a shame to regret it.

@kthwkr2 years ago I succumbed to the fashion fad at the time and grew my hair long, wore beat up jeans, T-shirt, sandals, and had a huge record collection of classic rock. Then I got older and decided I no longer liked my younger fashion. I bought some regular slacks, a button down shirt, cut my hair, and got lace up shoes. Took about one hour at a local mall. And that was it. The fashion fad was gone. I kept the record collection though.
Thank goodness there was not a tattoo fad during the sixties. Actually that would have been rejected because we were mostly anti-fashion and a tattoo would have been considered fashion.

Did you put anything else except for aloe vera gel after the sessions? I use the same restorative moisturizer I used for my tattoo and the practician said it was also good for tattoo removal but I just wanted to know because I have aloe vera gel and I'd rather use that than the moisturizer tbh. @rih23702 years ago I got some huge tattoos done in the 90's when i was young and stupid. Around 2013 i had them removed with laser...but recently i have been reading how laser removal can cause cancer. I worry about this...the laser makes the ink go straight into the lymphatic system. Who knows what toxic inks my 90's tattoos had. Laser removal should be illegal. I wish i never got tattooed but i wish even more i stayed away from laser removal. Better do a cover up or just accept them imo. ... 4

@jasonmilly33202 years ago I have 3 tattoos and am in the process of getting them all removed. A medium sized black tattoo on my right forearm, a medium sized mostly black (a little bit of red) tattoo on my left forearm and black tattoo on my left elbow. I've had the same amount of treatments on all of them...about 6, maybe 7 sessions now.
I figured one of them would've been completely gone by now but they're still there...however two of them are pretty close to being gone, they're clearly going away. But the one with a little bit of red...there's literally no difference after all these sessions. I understand other colors besides black are hard to remove, but even the black in this one isn't going away. What could the issue be? Am I just gonna have to get a cover up of something I actually do like? I'm not living the rest of my life (28) with this tattoo on my arm.
It was the biggest mistake when I got my tattoos...I got all 3 within 3 months, and the first 2 just a couple weeks apart! My family has tattoos (sister has 20+) so it was something I thought I'd do too...but I regret it.

First sessions are always the most effective because your tattoo is darker and more pigmented ... 1

@centaraura3 years ago People usually think that tattoo removing is almost same as doing a tattoo. But the truth is ,that is one of the longest procedure in terms of session numbers , and the final end point is unpredictable. This, due several facts like chemical composition of the used ink (presence of iron or other heavy metals), circulation (worst the circulation worst the result), position of the tattoo, age, depth of the ink layer, ecc. So, if we use the best of laser we have (and here we have one of the best machine in the market) it could take several sessions, and in almost all cases it will be always visible the "ghost" tattoo. So, it is possible to remove it completely in 4-5 sessions if you are a perfect case (ultra white skin, good circulation, perfect zone, no heavy metals in the ink, not to deep). There is a good case in the movie "Skin" from 2018. A former British skin head wanted to remove his tattoos. Well, it takes 20 sessions in 3 years to do it. ... 1

@MJ-jm1sn5 years ago Congratulations on getting them removed if that is what you wanted. In my opinion though, they were tasteful and well done tats and didn’t make you look thug at all. I have a tattoo on my back that I would like removed but I have a heart condition and have been advised against having the laser break up my ink and send it into my bloodstream because of the risk of damage to the heart. Laser removal does come with health risks and I’m not willing to take that risk. I guess I just have to learn to live with my mistake or “bad judgement” as some people call it. It is what it is.
