In this video, I am practicing a small, unaccompanied piece from Fantini's trumpet book of 1638. Some things that are different from my modern trumpet playing: this instrument (a copy of a 1632 Hanns Hainlein that I made in the International Trumpet Making Workshop) is about 8 feet long; there are no valves or holes; the mouthpiece is a copy of a William Bull and is about 20mm in diameter (compare to my Bach 1C at 17mm) and has a flat rim. I am trying to play with some historical articulation (e.g., "ti-ri-ti-ri"). Also, as you can hear, I am trying to bend the F (the fourth scale note) down.
